FLYING WITH DIGNITARIES be

Other day I was traveling in GO Air flight   traveling from Delhi to Nagpur.The Flight was at 19.20 hours from T2. Terminal and the boarding gate number was 29.  I was given seat number 18 D and I had a very bad experience in the flight particularly ruthless and ignorant behavior of one of the Air hostesses. I wonder whether they are given any training or not but certainly they have no sense of how to behave  with their customers.  Since last two years I have been giving preference to Go Air over Indigo as I observed  Indigo in its attempt to be always on time have ignored many other things today I have however concluded that it has nothing to do with Air lines but theo individuals whom you come across matters.


On 18 E and 18 F Magassisi award winners Dr  Prakash Amate and his wife Dr  Mandakini Amate were sitting. I felt great  to sit next to such a divine couple. Prakash Aamate was thirsty and was required to take some medicine so he politely requested the air hostess for water. She did not give the impression that she heard him.......so Prakash sir repeated the request. Air hostess then rudely told them to wait till all the passengers settle. After about 10 minutes mrs Aamate reminded the air hostess for water. ....after another 10 minutes prakash sir became restless but after his third request the water was given to him and air hostess murmurred " Paani bina kya mar rahe hai kya " I lost my temper and I then talked to another Air hostess. I told her that One doesnot expect them to give importance and  respect to Magassisi award winners but at lease respect them because they are senior citizens. 

By that time many passengers came to know that Prakash Aamate is in the flight and there  was rush to take "selfie"  with him . I said sorry to Prakash sir on behalf of those ignorant air hostess . During conversation with him and telling him my name  Prakash sir told me that my father and my brother both had met  him in Bharat Ratna BABA AAMATE's place  . He told me that he was wondering whether we met earler ?  My face resembles to my brother Sanjiv's and that is why he was wondering so . Here was a great personality who precisely told me about my brother's visit to him almost 6 -7 years back . He inquired about my father and correctly told me that he was mathematics professor. Hats off to his great devotional work and his memory but more than that I appreciate his concern to remember simple people like us and enquire their how abouts and where abouts. 
  
 Then came the tea and coffee at an exorbitant cost of Rs 100 and Prakash sir did not take anything most likely  thinking perhaps that  money can be utilized for better cause, after tea  there was again some more people who greeted  Prakash sir .Looking at the  rush , air hostess perhaps realized her mistake and then came to offer tea or coffee which Prakash sir refused. The air hostess then commented that         "Don't bother for money sir ..we are offering it free to you  because you are our special guest "That was another stupid comment.

  I started wondering about how ignorant and manner less  this new generation of airhostess  is !

When the flight was about to land in Nagpur .... There was an announcement  about thanking passengers for selecting GO AIR......in fact it was stated " we know you have many options to select and we thank you for  selecting us."..  I laughed ..... Since then I am exercising my other options though I know that everywhere the scenario will be similar !

FALL  IN   LINE 43 years back I attended one lecture of noted management expert and teacher , Professor Sharu Rangnekar and later  read his  one small and wonderful   book titled " In the wonderland of Indian Mangers".I honestly feel that no one has described  management style and work culture of  Indian Industries better than professor Rangnekar. Since then I have been a silent observer of the people I have met in various industries. RANGNEKAR described  in the book how people avoid work in the systematic manner.He also mentioned  about 90 /10  formulae stating that  in almost all Indian  industries and offices 90 percent work is done by 10 percent of the employees and balance 10 percent work is done by 90 percent of the employees .When I observe people I try to place them in either 90 percent or 10 percent category .
