DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

It was Sunday and in the afternoon we were watching basket ball match between Haryana and Maharashtra.In those days Doordarshan was the sole channel available and whatever they telecasted people  used to either watch merrily or switch off  the TV and used to go to see some movie in cinema theater.
The basket ball match was very interesting and scores of both the teams were increasing after each basket scored by the respective teams and scores were going neck to neck .It was a final match and both team's were giving their best for winning the gold medal.

Myself and my wife were very happy to see Maharashtrian girls  giving spirited fight to Haryana girls who looked a shade better and physically stronger.Maharashtra not only leveled the score from down score of  7-13 at 21-21 but at half time they were leading 35-32

Then came a sensational comment of my son Amey. He commented on us that  you dont understand  basket ball game because whenever we are loosing you are clapping.He confidently said we will win but according to him   "we" means Haryana.

Both , myself and my wife were perplexed !

Being born and brought up in Maharashtra, supporting them was a quite natural in my opinion.Amey's case was however different.Since bare 3 months age he was always in Haryana so his extending support to Haryana was equally natural from his perspective.I felt proud about his thinking and appreciated it.
After half time match was between me and Amey and with every basket scored we were cheering our teams.As the lead was extended by Maharashtra I started teasing my son and at that time my wife changed   the party .After half time KAPIL DEV had come to see the interesting final and that boosted the confidence of Haryana girls . They increased the speed of the game and soon overcome the score of Maharashtra.

In the end Haryana won comfortably with the margin of 12 points and I still remember the joy on the face of my Son.Living in Haryana he was supporting Haryana .It took another 15 more years for me to start supporting Haryana whenever they are playing against Maharashtra in any sport.Today I proudly state that in any international event Haryana state wins  maximum medals for India be it boxing,wrestling ,shooting or Badminton.

For last 20 years whenever I watch Basket Ball match I remember that final match watched  on the TV  and face of my Son who had a different perspective while watching the same match.

FALL IN LINE

FALL  IN   LINE 43 years back I attended one lecture of noted management expert and teacher , Professor Sharu Rangnekar and later  read his  one small and wonderful   book titled " In the wonderland of Indian Mangers".I honestly feel that no one has described  management style and work culture of  Indian Industries better than professor Rangnekar. Since then I have been a silent observer of the people I have met in various industries.
